Job Responsibilities:
The overall role of a direct care staff member is to assist the Program Director to ensure that the daily functions at Ozarks Teen Challenge are kept at the highest standards (keeping to our Core Values, Student Covenant & Missions Statement.) These are some key responsibility areas/tasks but all staff are not limited to the mentioned. All staff shall be available to assist in other areas as needed & to work various shifts days, nights & weekends and to ensure the physical & spiritual needs of each student are being met in a Christ-centered environment.
Job Duties:
Daily management of students & facility
- Supervise students to ensure the schedule is kept and that students are in a safe and positive environment.
- Ensure facility is clean inside & out by supervising chores & student work projects.
- Oversee maintenance of vehicles & property as needed.
- Oversee wake up/lights out, meal times, worship/devotion/chapel, recreation, student consequences, and fundraising, as needed.
- Oversee daily student mail, phone, medical & chronological logs/forms
- Leave shift notes in SoberPeer for the next shift.
Meeting/Planning & Leadership Mentoring/Communication
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, special training events, CPR/First Aid, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)/Physical restraint training.
- Communicate regularly with key Ozarks TC leadership: Program Manager, School Administrator, Admissions Coordinator, Discipleship Coordinator, Parent Contact Staff & Office Manager.
- Communicate clearly with leadership, seeking direction from leaders & being a liaison between students & executive leadership.
Discipleship & Academics:
- Oversight of group and individual discipleship courses (training will be provided.)
- Act as a phase facilitator/mentor (as needed.)
- Assist the Discipleship Coordinator in students’ progress.
- Spend time getting to know students, let them know you care so you can mentor, counsel & to provide biblical guidance.
- To assist the Academic Administrator in maintaining a structured and healthy learning atmosphere during school hours.
- Assist if needed in Ozarks Boys Academy, tutoring & oversight of school.
Other:
- Each staff member will participate in occasional trips or activities (i.e. missions trips, reward trips, and field trips)
