Skyler is from Rolla, Missouri; the town that his parents relocated to when he was young to begin a new life in recovery after years of substance abuse. With two parents living on the other side of addiction, Skyler grew up with recovery principles woven into his upbringing and has gone on to use those principles in his work at OTC.
After graduating from College of the Ozarks with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion, Skyler wanted to be involved in ministry that engaged people’s real-life issues. He became the admissions coordinator at OTC and after two years in that role, took on a new position, doing direct mentoring and counseling work with students. He is currently preparing to test for his CRADC (Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Counseling) credentials, as well as pursing a master’s degree in Social Work.
Skyler is a husband and father of three. He enjoys fishing, reading philosophy, and hiking with his family.
